Pitching Round - Pitch Your Screenplay Project
It's a new year, a new decade...time to write your screenplay. But where to begin? Here's your opportunity to pitch your Film/TV project or idea and get some valuable feedback! This is a safe space to test out and improve your ideas and pitching skills.
We will schedule pitches on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to pitch, send an email to berlinscreenwritersnetwork (at) gmail (dot) com or sign up on our Facebook page or Meetup page.
Please prepare your pitches to go no longer than 3-5 minutes. This will be followed up by Q&A from the other members in the group.
Here are some best practices for pitching:
1. Be confident and excited about your project. If you can't get excited, no one else will.
2. Be concise but include the genre, main character's dilemma and arc, the story's hook.
3. Stick to what's important--major story beats. Secondary characters, B stories and dialogue, for example, are not necessary.
4. Tell why this story resonates with you. Why is it important for you to tell this story. Also, why is it relevant today? These are questions you'll be asked in a real pitch, so it's good to be prepared for this.
Next month we'll have the Feedback Round. Those who pitch in this event will get first priority next month to receive feedback on script pages or treatment.
